As someone who always dreamed of moving to Paris, and finally achieving it in the age of 25, I quickly fell in love with Emily's story, since she did it in a more lovely and cool way than I ever could!
Since Emily in Paris premiered in Netflix this past year, I fell in love with the show. Even though it admittedly portrayed a very exaggerated image of an American in Paris, and was criticized by many for being over the top, bordering on offensive, especially regarding the French people, I tend to focus on the comedy side of it and I couldn't help but love the playful and dynamic Emily and her crazy outfits!
The costume designer behind Emily's outfits is Patricia Field, the renowned costume designer, that wrote history in shaping the iconic style of Carrie Bradshaw and her friends in Sex and the City. With Emily in Paris, the designer went all the way in portraying Emily's style as playful and an american swift of the Parisian style.
Even though Emily's outfits in general are a little bit extravagant for my taste, I still find myself inspired by Emily's outfit choices. Here I collected my favorite outfits that Emily wore in the streets of Paris and, since most of them were immediately sold out online, I tried to find some alternatives for you to get inspired.
1. The checked suit outfit

The Veronica Beard checked jacket and shorts originally worn by Emily are unfortunately sold out online, but we found for you the following similar alternative choices:
A great high fashion alternative is this Saint Laurent jacket here. And since not many of us can afford it, a more affordable alternative can be found at Mango here.
The Chanel bag that Emily is wearing in the picture was also alternative here
Gianvito Rossi Ribbon 45 patent-leather pumps here with their affordable version found at Mango here.

2. The pink coat outfit

The Kenzo pink coat that Emily is wearing for flower shopping when she meets the lovely Camille is unfortunately sold out, so we found this Topshop alternative.
These Nike sneakers are the closest we could find to Emily's shoes, however we think that a great alternative would be this pair of Veja sneakers, made by a sustainable and ethic french brand.
